"Shennie Buck"
"Shennie" Buck, 82, of Ainsworth, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, in Washington County Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, May 7, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. The body will be cremated following the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home without family's presence, and from 1 to 2pm Thursday at the funeral home with the family present. A general memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Buck was born in Keokuk, the son of Marvin Hugo and Irene (Rath) Buck. He married Jan Derby on Nov. 6, 1960, in Brighton.
He attended school in Ainsworth. He worked at Dick and Bill's Produce and at Washington Manufacturing until his heath failed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife; one son, James Buck or Ainsworth; one daughter, Mary Berns and husband Donald of Ainsworth; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Edgar and husband Hank of Crawfordville, and Katie Kiesey and husband Dan pf Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
