Curtis W. Howell
Services for Curtis Wilson Howell, 75, of 4605 S.W. Fourteenth St., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn's Southside Funeral Home, with burial in Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson. He died Monday of leukemia at Wesley Acres nursing home, 3520 Grand Ave.
Born in Madison County before moving to DesMoines 32 years ago. He was a retired farmer and had attended Capital City Community College and Iowa State University. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the First United Methodist Church in DesMoines.
Survivors include his wife, Della; three daughters, Mrs. F.A. Erickson of Madrid, Mrs. Norman Wittrup of Lakewood, Colo., and Mrs. Gene A. Schmaltz of DesMoines; a son, Curtis W. Howell, jr., of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Darwin Howell of Winterset and Russell Howell of Vacaville, Calif., nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. |
